Stefan Leitner received the B.Sc. degree and the Dipl.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering from Graz University of Technology, Graz, Austria, in 2014 and 2016, respectively. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering at the Electric Drives and Machines Institute at Graz University of Technology, Graz, Austria.
He spent an academic year at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA, in 2014–15, via the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP). He was a visiting scholar at Washington State University, Pullman, WA, USA, and a recipient of the Marshall Plan Scholarship in 2016. He was awarded Oesterreichs Energie-Preis 2017 for his Master’s Thesis. His research interests include the design of fractional horsepower drives, finite element analysis, and microgrids. He is a member of the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Brushless Drives for Pump and Fan Applications.
